Colombo Institute of Research and Psychology was established in August 2010 by a group of young professionals in the fields of medicine, psychology and business with the aim of providing tertiary education in the fields of Psychology and Research. Since its conception, under the academic directorship of Dr. Darshan Perera, it has become the leading degree-granting institute in Sri Lanka for Psychology education.
Colombo Institute of Research and Psychology consists of Academic Research, Corporate and Therapeutic divisions and focuses on promoting unconstrained thinking and creativity among Sri Lankan students.
Over the years CIRP has grown to become a prominent and prestigious academic institution in Sri Lanka, differentiating itself from other private higher educational institutes in terms of its standards in quality and ethics.
Today, CIRP has earned the reputation of an institute with academic and research interests and respect among academics for the numerous pioneering projects the Institution has initiated. These initiatives have indeed positively contributed to the development of the field of psychology and research in Sri Lanka and have even contributed to the increase in the number of qualified psychology practitioners in Sri Lanka, from just 22 in 2012 to around 80 by 2014, a threefold surge.
ICAP is a significant achievement in CIRP’s path to becoming an internationally reputed and credible academic and research institution.
